WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Daniel Romanelli Wednesday doubled in a pair of runs to lead the Westfield Post 124 Juniors to a 10-3 American Legion Baseball Western Massachusetts playoff win over North Adams Post 125.   Audrey Amaral and Jacob Kotarski combined to allow just three hits on the mound for Westfield.   Evrerett Bayliss and Carson Dix each doubled for North Adams, which also got a hit from Owen Koamaya.   Post 125 (11-6) will face Greenfield Post 81 in an elimination game on Friday.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Tristan Helmick threw six shutout innings Tuesday to lead the North Adams SteepleCats to a 4-0 win over Upper Valley and a double-header split in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.   Robert Stang went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to lead North Adams' offense in the win. Taconic graduate Nick Guachione was 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run.   In the nightcap, Upper Valley won, 7-3.   Sean Stephenson homered and drove in a pair of runs in the loss.   North Adams (17-19) travels to face the Vermont Mountaineers on Wednesday.

Dalton CRA Softball Tournament Gets Underway

DALTON, Mass. – The Greylock Thunder travel softball program opened the CRA Tournament on Friday night with a pair of victories.   The Thunder knocked off host Dalton in the 12-and-under and 14-and-under division openers at Pine Grove Park by scores of 9-1 and 20-7, respectively.   The 10U division also got underway on Friday night, with the ACS Swat downing Dalton, 15-8.   In the 14U game, Bayleigh Tatro led the way, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs in a 22-hit attack for Greylock.   Gianna Witek was 5-for-5, and Kendall Moran and Ava Jagiello had four hits apiece.   Kyleigh Cooper tripled and drove in a pair of runs while also going
