LEE, Mass. -- Rich Casey threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Housatonic River Monsters to a 12-1 win over the Devils last week in Berkshire Adult Baseball League action.   Casey struck out six and walked four. Ben Snow, Tom Duffin and Nick Pow each had a pair of hits for the River Monsters. Pow drove in four runs, and Jake Simon drove in three.   Brandon Pettit's sacrifice fly plated Mike Carnevale for the Devils' run.   Elsewhere in the league's over-25 division, the pitchers for the Great Barrington Millers and Berkshire Baseball Academy combined for 41 strikeouts in the 12-inning marathon.   Alex Salazar drove in a run in the top of the 12th to give

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Landon Willeman allowed one run over five innings Sunday to pitch the North Adams SteepleCats to a 10-3 win over Vermont in New England Collegiate Baseball League play.   Willeman struck out five, walked two and allowed three hits before turning the ball over to the bullpen.   Thomas Gavello went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs to lead a 10-hit North Adams attack.   Lucas Donlon and Charles Middleton each had a pair of hits for the SteepleCats.   North Adams (5-5-2) takes a two-game winning streak into Tuesday evening's home game against Keene, N.H., at Joe Wolfe Field.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The North Adams SteepleCats Wednesday split a double-header with the Upper Valley Nighthawks at Joe Wolfe Field.   In the opener, Wilfrido Valenzuela scattered five hits and allowed just one earned run in five innings to earn the win on the mound.   Jeremy Lea doubled, and John Marti drove in a pair of runs a 3-1 win.   Michael Kluska doubled in a five-hit SteepleCats attack in the nightcap.   Jordan Yoder and Noah Niznik split time on the mound for North Adams in the 3-0 loss.   North Adams (3-4-2) is home against Vermont on Friday.

LYNN, Mass. -- Jeremy Lea hit his second home run of the season and the North Adams SteepleCats Sunday earned their second tie of the season against North Shore.   North Adams, which tied the Navigators, 4-4, in its home opener, tied them, 5-5, in its first trip to Lynn this season.   Aidan Wilde went 2-for-5, and Braden Barry and John Marti each doubled in a seven-hit North Adams attack.   The SteepleCats used four pitchers on the night. Justin Baeyens struck out two and allowed just two hits and no runs in four innings of work.   North Adams (1-2-2) goes to Keene, N.H., on Monday night.

Hunter Potash last week pitched BBA to a 4-3 win over the Berkshire Devils in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League.   Joe Gratton picked up the save for BBA, which improved to 3-2 on the season.   Dick Dumas had a double and an RBI, and Jared Blondin singled in a run for BBA.   Kevin Donati had two hits for the Devils (1-4).   Chip Paul went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Spencer Cook and Alex Salazar each homered for the Millers (4-1). NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Greylock Thunder travel softball program will be hold tryouts for its under-10 and under-12 travel teams on Sunday, May 30.   U10 will be helld at 2 p.m. and U12 tryouts at 3 p.m. at Alcombright Field on Protection Avenue.    Any players interested are welcome to attend, players do not need to play in any house league to qualify.
