 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — In February 2022, the First Congregational Church North Adams (FCCNA) raised $5,100 to help our neighbors in need at Berkshire Food Project, Louison House, and the Al Nelson Friendship Center Food Pantry. The Valentine's Day, FCCNA invites Berkshire County residents to contribute again. For every $100 received, FCCNA will donate $25. All proceeds will be split evenly among the three recipient organizations. Checks should be made payable to First Congregational Church North Adams, with "Share the Love" in the memo line, and sent to Missions Ministry–FCCNA, 134 Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Berkshires' Academy for Advanced Musical Studies, Inc., (BAAMS) announced it has recently garnered support from several donors and foundations, all contributing to the expansion of its mission and increasing its ability to serve more young music students from Berkshire County and beyond. A donation was received from Michelle Daunais and Rick Seto of Weymouth, double matched by Takeda Pharmaceutical, as well as funds raised through Network for Good, and funds were also donated in Memory of John T. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — 1Berkshire announced that it is the recipient of a $295,000 grant award through the Regional Economic Development Organization (REDO) grant program. This funding is made available because of statewide investments made by the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) and the support of the Berkshire County Legislative Delegation. The mayor, the first woman to lead the city, established the Hall of Fame last year to recognize women who "have had a positive impact on the community, and have been an overall example of courage, strength and wisdom." NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The School Committee is seeking applicants to fill an unexpired term for the next 10 months. A joint meeting of the committee and the City Council will vote on the applicants at a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 4 p.m. Mayor Jennifer Macksey, chair of the School Committee, told the panel on Tuesday that it would be "an all call for a letter of interest for people who are interested in joining our fantastic committee." The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Joshua Vallieres, who was elected in 2021 to complete the last two years of a four-year term.  BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) has implemented a new Zero Tolerance Policy for its hospital campus, medical office building and offsite practices. The policy and communications plan is a proactive approach detailing what actions and language are not tolerated to address the workplace violence trend currently occurring at healthcare institutions across the United States.
