North Adams Man Pleads Guilty to Child Assault03:32PM / Friday, June 06, 2025 | | PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Thursday, June 5, Jesriel Morales, 37 of North Adams, pleaded guilty to five charges in Berkshire Superior Court. The charges are: 3 counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon on a Child 2 counts of Assault and Battery The incident occurred in 2022. The Defendant assaulted a six-year-old child: slamming the child into a window and wall, hitting them with a belt, slapping them; and then forcing them to kneel on dried rice. The Commonwealth requested a state prison sentence of 3 to 5 years. The defense sought probation or a suspended sentence. Windsor Lake to Undergo Chemical Treatment08:16AM / Friday, June 06, 2025 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Windsor Lake is scheduled to undergo chemical treatment for nuisance aquatic vegetation on Friday, June 6, 2025. Following the treatment, restrictions on water use will be in effect. The water should not be used for drinking and cooking until June 10, 2025. Boating, fishing, and swimming will be restricted until June 7, 2025. Watering of livestock is prohibited until June 8, 2025. Irrigation from the lake is not permitted until June 12, 2025. The chemical treatment is being conducted under a permit issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and an order of conditions from the Conservation Commission. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Drury High School has named Colin Matthew Daly and Atlas Lescarbeau as the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the class of 2025.
