NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The city welcomed three new police officers to the force last week. City Clerk Tina Leonesio swore in Samuel Demolino, Jasmine Knapp, and Christopher Voss at Tuesday's City Council meeting. All three had graduated from the Police Academy a few days earlier. Mayor Jennifer Macksey introduced the officers and urged them to embrace their new responsibility with "integrity and purpose." North Adams, Mass. — Hoosac Harvest's 15th Annual Seedling Swap returns to downtown North Adams on Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to noon on Main Street near the corner of American Legion Drive. All seedlings are free and attendees do not need to bring seeds to participate. Attendees can bring extra extra vegetable or flower seedlings as well as cuttings or plants. All donations go toward subsidizing CSA shares—weekly "shares" of a local farmer's produce over the course of an annual growing season—for people in the community. Clarksburg Total Budget for FY26 Up 5.6%By Tammy Daniels , iBerkshires Staff 12:59PM / Monday, May 19, 2025 | | CLARKSBURG, Mass. — The annual town meeting will be presented a total budget for fiscal 2026 of $5,386,082, up $286,598 or 5.6 percent over this year. The town's operating budget at $1,862,872, up $94,217 or 5 percent, over this year. The assessment of $437,567 to McCann Technical School is up $74,348, based on enrollment, and the $3,085,643 Clarksburg School budget is up $118,233, or just under 4 percent. A joint meeting of the School Committee, Select Board and Finance Committee endorsed the school budget on Wednesday.
