 BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) welcomes Certified Nurse Midwives Kim Griffin, CNM, and Amy Kranick, CNM, MSN, to SVMC OB/GYN and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians. "Women at every stage of life need expert guidance for managing their health care and understanding their options," said SVMC's Chair of the Department of Obstetrics Kimberley Sampson. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The School Committee is seeking applicants to fill an unexpired term for the next 10 months. A joint meeting of the committee and the City Council will vote on the applicants at a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 4 p.m. Mayor Jennifer Macksey, chair of the School Committee, told the panel on Tuesday that it would be "an all call for a letter of interest for people who are interested in joining our fantastic committee." The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Joshua Vallieres, who was elected in 2021 to complete the last two years of a four-year term. The policy and communications plan is a proactive approach detailing what actions and language are not tolerated to address the workplace violence trend currently occurring at healthcare institutions across the United States.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The General Government Committee is recommending that the short-term rental ordinance be split so that registration, regulations, fees and enforcement fall under the Building Code and the definitions and restrictions in location under the Zoning Ordinances. The vote was on the advice of the city solicitor and Administrative Officer Katherine Eade, who sectioned off the ordinance. No Gilded Gramaphone This Year Local hopes were high that Pittsfield native Matt Cusson would bring home a Grammy on Sunday but it was not to be. Cusson had been nominated for his arrangement of the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love" for a cappella group Kings Return. He lost to John Beasley, who was nominated for his arrangement of Charlie Parker's "Scrapple from the Apple."
