Annual Barn Sale Benefiting United Counseling Service

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The annual Barn Sale fundraiser benefiting United Counseling Service (UCS) takes place September 16-17, 2023, at the Northshire Civic Center at Riley Rink, located at 410 Hunter Park Road in Manchester.    Shoppers can stop by the sale from 9am-4pm on Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday to find clothing, furniture, kitchen equipment, home décor, serve ware, antiques, and more.   All proceeds support UCS' services in the Northshire, which include outpatient mental health and counseling, psychiatry, substance use disorder services, youth and family services, and Head Start/Early Head Start. MCLA Volleyball Splits Saturday Double-Header

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- Julia Conturso reocrded 23 digs on Saturday as the MCLA volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over SUNY Canton.   Chloe Garber had 10 kills, and Shannon O'Brien notched 14 assists for the Trailblazers, who improved to 2-1 with the win.   Earlier in the day, Keuka College defeated MCLA, 3-0. Beth Harris had 15 assists in the loss.

Mass MoCA Welcomes New Tenant, Administrator

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Mass MoCA Commission on Monday welcomed a new artist and a new administrator at the museum.    Christopher Pollock was approved an art-making gallery space of almost 500 square feet on the first floor of Building 13 at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art beginning Sept. 1. He creates sculptures in natural materials and metal and mobiles that he described as "picture a Calder with paddles that look like a reptile." McCann Tech Students Plan Charity Run for Maui Fire Relief

CHESHIRE, Mass. — The McCann Tech cross country team on Sept. 16 will host a 5-kilometer trail run and 1 mile walk to benefit victims of August's fire in Hawaii.   The Walk/Run for Maui fund-raiser will take place at Whitney's Farm on Ingalls Road (follow the dirt road past the U-Pick blueberries).   Check in on Saturday, Sept. 16, will be at 7:30 a.m. The 5K trail run begins at 8:30, and the stroller-friendly 1 mile walk begins at 9:30.   The cost to register is $20 in advance or $25 the day of registration.
