MCLA Volleyball Falls in Conference Final

Clarksburg Unhappy with Proposed Land Sale to State

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Town officials are looking askance at a potential sale of 35 acres to the state.   Town Administrator Carl McKinney told the Select Board on Wednesday that the town had not been officially notified but he wanted to alert them of the possibility and that they would debate whether to recommend once that happened.    McKinney said the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield had been bequeathed the 35 acres in Clarksburg State Park along Bald Mountain. Northern Berkshire Adult Education Conversation Class

MCLA Volleyball Reaches Conference Final

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Northern Berkshires could be in for a wintry mix of snow and ice on Thursday morning.    The National Weather Service in Albany, N.Y., has a winter weather advisory in effect beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday through 1 p.m. on Thursday.    Plan on slippery road conditions, especially on untreated surfaces. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute.   Affected areas in Southern Vermont and the Northern Berkshires could see up to an inch of snow and ice accumulations of 2/10ths of an inch. Berkshire Family YMCA Seeks New CEO

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Jessica Rumlow will be leaving the Berkshire Family YMCA (BFYMCA) at the end of the year to work for the Alliance of Massachusetts YMCAs as the Chief Operations Officer.    Rumlow has worked for the BFYMCA for 10 years and was appointed to the CEO position in 2019.   During her tenure at the BFYMCA she supported its expansion of services into Bennington, Vt.., and lead the organization through COVID, but her biggest accomplishment was completing the $12.4M renovation project of the historic Pittsfield Branch.   The Board of directors plans to conduct a national search for the next CEO.
