North Adams Airport Hangar Complete, Commission Look Towards New ProjectBy Jack Guerino, iBerkshires Staff

 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Peter Enzien of Stantec, the airport's engineer, reported that the North East Hangar project is finally complete and awaiting FAA approval for final reimbursement. "The Northeast hanger project is complete, 100 percent," Enzien told the commission Tuesday. "We just completed all the final closeout documentation, all that was sent to the city. The mayor signed everything. It was all returned back to the FAA three weeks ago." In 2022, the commissioners voted to go forward with the renovation of the derelict hangar, owned by the city. The Hoosic River Revival project has two major initiatives underway — a feasibility study and a placemaking working group. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A state air quality director says Brayton Elementary School was a victim of an underreported "natural disaster" that hit the state in late summer. "We were drowned with a lot of hot, moist air, and that, in and of itself, perfect painting," said Michael Feeney, director of the state Department of Public Health's Indoor Air Quality Program at Massachusetts Department of Public Health. "It's where the water is, it's where mold is going to grow. So then it becomes an issue as to where, what gets wet."
