 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The $65 million Greylock School project has moved into the detailed design phase after the successful debt exclusion vote earlier this month. "This is where we really start turning the work and developing the real life building," said Mayor Jennifer Macksey. "So from conception to reality." NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A potential major donor to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts toured the campus last month. "They were here on campus in September for two days and left the meeting feeling very good about donating to the mission of the campus," President Jamie Birge told the Board of Trustees last Thursday.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Recently, a group of players and families with Adams-Cheshire-Savoy Girls Softball paid a visit to No Paws Left Behind animal shelter with a donation of essential pet supplies. League players, families, and the board of directors collected and donated toys, treats, food, and cleaning supplies to present to the No Paws staff and animals. While there, the players were able to meet and interact with some of the animals, and they also learned a bit about the day-to-day operations of the shelter and the fine work the staff does in finding forever homes for the animals they care for. The redevelopment of the Wright Building on North Street in Pittsfield is receiving nearly $2 million in grant funding. Like every other resident of North Adams, I was until very recently unaware of a sneaky logging plan for a patch of pristine public lands on the south side of Mount Greylock called Notch Woods. Excuse me, it's not a logging plan, it's a forest management plan, or is it a forest stewardship plan? Whatever obfuscating rhetoric you choose, the timber industry is about to rip 70 acres of iconic public land to shreds, and on that razed ground build back what might be their crowning achievement in euphemism, wait for it, a "climate resilient forest."
