NBSA Fall Basketball League Title Games Set

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Championship matchups are set for the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy's fall basketball season.   The title games are set for Sunday morning at Drury High School.   In the A Division, the NBSA will play Giardina and Bresett PC at 9 a.m. Then, the Saboteurs will take on Adelson and Company in the B Division final.   All four teams advanced with semi-final wins on Oct. 29 at the Armory.   Jon Gregory scored 31 points to lead Adelson and Company. Colin Rousseau and Nick Lewis added 11 and 10 points, respectively in the win.   NBSA got 24 points from Brian Dowling. Ben Moulton scored 18 points, and Tim Brazeau had a game-high 18

Drury's McGrath Leads Springfield College Offense

Drury High graduate Kayla McGrath has a team-high eight goals for the Springfield College women's soccer team this fall.   Last week, she scored both Pride goals in a 2-0 win over Wellesley.   McGrath's two game-winning goals this season is currently seventh in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.   She has played 29 games and has 10 starts over the last two seasons for Springfield, which was 8-4-5 overall (6-2-3 in the NEWMAC) in the regular season and opens the conference tournament on Tuesday against Smith.   Westfield State senior (Wahconah) has appeared in three games with one start in goal for the Owls, stopping six shots while

WILKES, Pa. -- Carlen Bertrand scored the first goal in the history of the MCLA women's hockey program in a 6-1 loss to Wilkes University on Saturday.   The Trailblazers (0-2) lost a pair of games to Wilkes on the first weekend for the first-year program.   Katie O'Brien stopped 52 shots for MCLA in Saturday's loss.   The Trailblazers host their first ever home game on Saturday when Hilbert College visits the Peter W. Brown Leads Trailblazers to Big League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Lee High graduate Elizabeth Brown Tuesday keyed a pivotal league victory for the MCLA volleyball team against Framingham State.   Brown finished with a match-high 12 kills and recorded a .357 hitting percentage.   She also made some big plays in the decisive third set.   Brown's kill capped a 6-2 run by the Trailblazers to open the third set, and she recorded two kills in a 5-1 run to end the set.   Shannon O'Brien had 23 assists in the 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 win.   With the win, MCLA (14-3, 3-1 MASCAC) stays in second place in the conference standings.   The Trailblazers host Salem State on Saturday for Senior Day at the Amsler

Kane-Smalls Leads Mount Greylock to OT Win in Title Game

Up Front for DeMar To Be Held on Veterans Day

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The annual Up Front for DeMar 5K race and 1-mile walk will be held on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.    This annual event is to raise money for the SPC Michael R. DeMarsico II scholarship fund and to honor Michael and all who serve and have served.    SPC DeMarsico was killed in action on Aug. 16, 2012, while serving in Afghanistan.
