WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Greylock ABC Fund launched earlier this month with a renewed mission to support the educational development of students in grades pre-K through 12. The Fund, established in partnership with Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (BTCF), maintains its focus on educational attainment for students of color while extending opportunities to students of low socio-economic status, and program support for multicultural and academic programs that benefit students of all demographic groups. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A North Adams man charged with brandishing a firearm outside a local bar last year has been sentenced to a dozen years in prison. Keith Larrabee, 27, of East Quincy Street, pleaded guilty on Monday in Berkshire Superior Court to counts of drug trafficking, drug possession, illegal possession of ammunition and firearms and assault and battery related to three incidents in North Adams. Larrabee was one of several people involved in an altercation at Key West Lounged that ended with two people being shot in a nearby apartment building on Feb. 19, 2022. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The City Council on Tuesday approved the use of nearly $2 million in free cash to reserves and to clean up some accounts in deficit. "Overall, we close the year in the black, which you want to do, with some money on hand and we were able to clean up some of our our books," said Mayor Jennifer Macksey, describing "accounting deficiencies" in the past. The city's fiscal 2022 free cash was certified at $1,953,766. Of that, $984,145 was transferred into the stabilization account. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
