Meczywor Leads Saboteurs to Fall Basketball League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Casey Meczywor scored 22 points Sunday to lead the Saboteurs to a 49-45 win over Ioka Valley/Original Seed Cigar, in the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy Fall Season B Division at the Armory.   Matt Hall scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.   lukas Zalazo had a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds, and Brian Boudreau finished with 15 boards for Ioka Valley.   NBSA 67, Workaholics 53 Ben Moulton, Brian Dowling and Russ Beauchamp each had a double-double for Northern Berkshire Sports Academy.   Moulton led the way with team highs of 22 points and 17 rebounds.   Dave Vidal scored 15, and Bob Malloy added 13 with 20 boards

Sunday 5K Kicks Off Busy Autumn for Berkshire Running Foundation

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Berkshire Running Foundation has announced its next four events for 2023.   A locally-based nonprofit organization, Berkshire Running foundation was established earlier this year to advance and support the positive impact running events have in the neighborhoods in which we live.   Sponsored by Spectrum Health, The FIR 5K will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 9 a.m. at the Crane Avenue entrance to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.   Sunday’s 5K Walk/Run is to benefit the Berkshire Running Foundation's FIR (Fitness In Recovery) program. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket

Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket. Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.

The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
