Adams Selectmen Sign 25-Year Agreement With Campground Developer

An initial plan for the camping area that could include cabins, tents and Airstreams. ADAMS, Mass. — The town of Adams has signed a 25-year development agreement with Shared Estates Asset Fund to construct a camping venue at the Greylock Glen.    The company will pay the town at least $74,400 annually; up to 7 percent of its gross profits; and real estate and property taxes.    The 3-1 vote by the Selectmen came after nearly three hours of reviewing the agreement in executive session with attorneys on Wednesday night. Carpenter Breaks School Assist Record at Framingham State

Framingham State senior point guard Gwendolyn Carpenter last month broke the all time assist record at the school.   Her 466th career assist came in a win over Curry College on Dec. 9, breaking a 5-year-old school record.   Carpenter was averaging more than seven assists per game going into Wednesday's home game against Westfield State. She also led the Rams (11-1) in minutes played, averaging 36.8 minutes per contest and had scored 9.4 points per game.   Carpenter is no stranger to breaking records. Adams Picks Mass Audubon for Glen Educator

MCLA Women's Basketball Earns Road Win

Gun Safety Resolution OK'd in North Adams Schools

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The School Committee on Tuesday reorganized for the new term, heard updates on a number of issues and approved a gun safety resolution promoted by the Be SMART campaign.    Mayor Jennifer Macksey is the chair of the committee because of her office but the vice chair is elected by the committee members.   David Sookey was unanimously elected vice chair on the nomination of Richard Alcombright.    Sookey had nominated Alcombright and Emily Daunis nominated herself; all nominations were seconded.
