NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Steeple City Liquors, also known as V&V, closed abruptly Monday night two weeks after the plaza it's in was sold. The store, which was promoting its products over the weekend for Super Bowl Sunday, made the announcement on Facebook on Tuesday morning and a sign on the door stated that it was "closed for good." "The staff would like to thank each and every patron for the ever lasting memories that were created," read the post. PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Berkshire Running Foundation has released the 2024 Race Calendar for the local nonprofit with several new events scheduled throughout the county. Following its first official year operating as a nonprofit entity in 2023, the 501c3 organization, which has a mission of advancing and expanding on the positive impact the running community has on the neighborhoods we live, produced, and directed eight events in 2023. The Foundation donated just more than $48,000 to local nonprofit entities which benefit from each event. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |

Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
