"This decision did not come easily. We have loved every second here. There are too many memories to mention as all of them were so much a part of our adventure on this campus and in this community," owners Aaron and Alexandra Oster wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. The Cruckfather Wins Lever's 2022 Mohawk Trail Entrepreneur Challenge 11:43AM / Thursday, April 28, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —The Cruckfather, LLC of Shelburne was selected by a panel of judges on Wednesday during the 2022 Mohawk Trail Entrepreneur Challenge (MTEC) pitch event at Foolhardy Hill in Charlemont, winning a $25,000 Lever Innovation Grant for their innovative timber frame construction business model. The Cruckfather and three other wood-based businesses from the Mohawk Trail region pitched their ideas at the MTEC, the culmination of Lever's startup acceleration program that helped each refine their business plans and work with mentors. McCann Student Injured in Metal Fabrication ShopStaff Reports, 12:49PM / Wednesday, April 27, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A McCann Technical School student was seriously injured Wednesday morning in the metal fabrication shop. The 18-year-old girl suffered burns and was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. "All we can do is confirm that an accident did occur and that the North Adams emergency services promptly arrived and administered appropriate treatment and transportation to BMC," said Superintendent James Brosnan. "The family is informed and aware of the accident." He did confirm that it was a burn injury but said privacy laws and regulations prevented him from saying more. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
