Anna Yan Ji Arabia's fight against cancer inspired her parents to help other families find a cure. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joe and Kathy Arabia hosted a mini-golf tournament a decade ago to raise money for research on childhood cancer after the death of their daughter, 16-year-old Anna Yan Ji Arabia. Kathy Arabia said they'd hoped to raise $1,000 — and instead raised 11 times that amount. "We raised $11,000 and that all went to research and it's been incredible since then," she said. Crane Stationery Future Uncertain With Reports of LayoffsStaff Reports, 03:55PM / Wednesday, February 14, 2024 | | COHOES, N.Y. — Mohawk Fine Papers, which owns Crane Stationery, is reportedly being acquired by the international Fedrigoni Group and employees at Crane were laid off. The news was reported Wednesday by Albany Business Review, which also confirmed that 75 people in the Crane unit were notified on Tuesday that they were laid off "effective immediately." The deal appears to be affecting what's left of the 220-year-old Crane Stationery, which Mohawk purchased in 2018. Mayor Jennifer Macksey introduced the firefighters, noting Rodrigues, of Dorchester, is a veteran of the Army Reserve and holds a bachelor of arts with a concentration in criminal justice from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. For every dollar received, FCCNA will donate 50 cents to help three local institutions—Berkshire Food Project, Louison House, and the Al Nelson Friendship Center Food Pantry.
