MountainOne Insurance Acquires G. W. Morisi Insurance Agency

LONGMEADOW, Mass. — MountainOne Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of MountainOne Bank, announced the acquisition of G.W. Morisi Insurance Agency, Inc., a third generation, family-owned agency that has served Longmeadow and neighboring communities for more than 75 years.   The G.W. Morisi staff of four, including President Rory Sullivan, will remain with the agency, providing the same level of excellent customer service, which has been the hallmark of the agency, from their 473 Longmeadow Street location. NA School Building Committee Considers Fields, Emergency Shelter

March 8 is International Women's Day, a day for celebrating all the accomplishments of women around the globe. But many women still need to make up ground in one key area: retirement security.

Women's challenges in achieving a secure retirement are due to several factors, including these:

MassDOT Funds Additional Projects at North Adams Airport

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — MassDOT agreed to fund a few additional Airport Safety and Maintenance Projects (ASMP) at the North Adams Airport within the current fiscal year.   Stantec Engineer Peter Enzien told the airport commission Tuesday, Feb 20 that the city will profit from some large MassDOT projects that have been delayed until fiscal year 2025.   "I thought this was all good news," said Commissioner Marc Morandi. FALMOUTH, Mass. — Ronald Nasif served his country in the Naval Reserve for 30 years, retiring as a commander.    Growing up in Boston, he majored in biology at Boston College, where he also lettered in football for the Eagles. He would go on to Tufts Medical School but took a year off graduate school and taught during the busing crisis of the 1970s.   "[Grad school] was always a challenge. It really changes your perspective on life, you give up a lot," he said. North Adams Airport Hangar Still Unfinished

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Without electricity, the newly renovated North East hangar remains incomplete, although airport engineers hope to bring service to the city hangar in the coming months.   "We are kind of at a standstill, and we have been at a standstill probably two months now," Stantec Engineer Peter Enzien told the commission Tuesday.   Enzien, who is the airport's contracted engineer, said the city is waiting on National Grid to complete a redesign of the new service entrance to the building. Gittens Records Double-Double in MCLA's Season Finale
