SVMC Celebrates Accredited Nursing Residency Graduates07:54AM / Tuesday, June 28, 2022 | | BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), graduated eight nurses from its Transition-to-Practice Nurse Residency Program. The program is the first program in the state and one of only 208 in the United States to have received accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Practice Transition Accreditation Program for nurses working in the medical-surgical, women's and children's, and emergency departments. North Adams Airport Approves Funding for Hangar Renovation Jack Guerino, iBerkshires Staff 12:38PM / Monday, June 27, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Airport Commission voted to use a total of $576,198 to begin work on the North East hangar renovation. Stantec Engineer Peter Enzien gave an update on the project last Tuesday and noted not much has changed since May. He said Stantec has addressed and submitted comments from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in regard to the grant application. What he did have was a general contractor bid of $479,000 from Tierney Construction. He said the commission had to make a decision on whether or not it wanted to move forward with renovating the city-owned hangar. SVHC COVID Resource Center Will Discontinue Testing04:10PM / Friday, June 24, 2022 | | BENNINGTON, Vt. — As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to decrease and the supply of rapid antigen tests has stabilized, the need for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing has declined dramatically. Federal funding for centralized testing has ceased. In addition, most workplaces and travel destinations no longer require PCR testing. As a result, SVHC will discontinue offering PCR tests at the CRC at noon on Friday, July 1.
