NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Nelphie Lopez hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh Wednesday to give the North Adams SteepleCats a 2-1 win over Sanford, Maine, in the first game of a double-header at Joe Wolfe Field.
Pittsfield's Nick Guachione went 2-for-3 and scored a run in the win, which extended North Adams' winning streak to seven games.
Sanford came back to earn an 8-5 win and a double-header split in the nightcap.
In Game 1, A.J. Petraitis struck out four hitters in six innings, allowing one run, before giving the ball to Eli Bridenthal. Bridenthal struck out two in a scoreless seventh to earn the win.
In the Game 2 loss for North Adams, Robert Stang went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, and Michael Toth doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
The SteepleCats (11-15) travel to face Danbury, Conn., on Thursday.
