There is a winter weather advisory in effect from 3 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to midnight in Northern Berkshire County.
Expect 2 to 5 inches of wet snow and a light glaze of ice. Snow will start falling mid to late afternoon changing into a wintery mix. Precipitation will turn into rain by midnight.
There is also a flood watch in place from 7 pm Tuesday to 1 pm Wednesday, Jan 10. Temperatures on Tuesday will top out in the high 30s, but temperatures will warm overnight. Melting snow and rain is expected to cause flooding.
Also, the National Weather Service has a high wind warning in place from 4 pm Tuesday to 7 am Wednesday.
Expect Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
The strongest wind gusts will occur in higher terrain areas along north and west-facing slopes. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible.
