NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Vermont Mountaineers Monday scored a run in the top of the seventh to break a tie and went on to a 5-4 win over the SteepleCats in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.

 

Gehrig Ebel tripled and drove in a run for North Adams, which got hits from Taconic graduates Cedric Rose and Sam Sherman.

 

Dominick Marcoccio struck out three and allowed one hit and no runs in four innings on the mound for North Adams.

 

The SteepleCats (8-25) goes to Montpelier to play Vermont on Thursday.
