MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The Vermont Mountaineers scored on a balk in the bottom of the fifth to earn a 4-3 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in New England Collegiate Baseball League on Saturday night.

 

The SteepleCats took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fourth, when Sam Tackett hit a two-run home run.

 

Dominick Marcoccio started and went 4 and two-thirds innings on mound for North Adams, giving up two earned runs and taking the loss.

 

The SteepleCats (9-18) which hosts Martha's Vineyard on Monday.
