NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Deshawn Hamlet scored 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds Monday as Battle of the Future battled to a 74-71 win over the PhoneBros in the A Division season opener of the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.

 

Aaron Perkins scored 18 points for Battle of the Future, and Bryce Webb and Daemond Carter added 11 and 10, respectively.

 

PhoneBros was led by Julius Woods with 25 points and seven boards. Dave Wells added 14, and Mike Taylor had 11 points for Phone Bros.

 

Team DB defeated Giardina and Bressett PC, 58-47, in Monday's nightcap.

 

Quentin Gittens led Team DB with 21 points and seven rebounds. Teammate Tay Sandifer scored 16.

 

Seth Shepard scored 11 points for Giardina, which got nine points from Kevin Shaker and eight points and 19 rebounds from Keiland Cross.

 

On Tuesday night at the Armory, it will be two B Division games at the Armory, starting at 6:30.
