Berkshire County is hosting a variety of events the spring weekend including festivals, musical performances, comedy nights, and more.

Annual Baby Animals Festival
Hancock Shaker Village, Pittsfield
The birds are chirping, the grass is getting greener, signs of spring are showing. What better way to celebrate that than visiting the baby animals at Hancock Shaker Village.
The village's baby animal festival begins this weekend from 11 until 4. Meet the farm's newest editions including lambs, kids, piglets, calves, and chicks.
Festivalgoers can partake in daily events and activities including daily talks about the farm and the Shakers, craft demonstrations, and more.
Friday
Dave Brown Musical Performance
Methuselah Bar and Lounge, Pittsfield
There will be live musical performances by local performers Dave Brown, Dave Christopolis and Tim Morrison.
They will be performing covers from classic rock, reggae, and funk. There will be a $3 cover charge added to your tab.
Live Comedy
Bounti-Fare, Adams
Comedians Marc Gerber, Eryca Nolan and Bri Morrison do their standups starting at 7:30 p.m.
The headliner for the night is Gerber, who is known for his regular rotation on SiriusXM comedy.

James Montgomery Band
The Stationery Factory, Dalton
American blues musician James Montgomery will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Read to A Dog
Bushnell-Sage Library, Sheffield
The library in partnership with Canine Link Therapy Dogs is encouraging readers in kindergarten through 5th grade to sign up for a 15-minute reading session with a certified therapy dog.
Sign-up is required, and a guardian must be present with the reader for the duration of the session.

Art Exhibit
Berkshire Botanical Garden, Stockbridge
The garden's newest art exhibit "Nest/Emerge" will be on view from 11 until 3.
Using layers and patterns, the exhibit explores the relationship between the natural and imagined forms.

MCLA Community Day of Service
MCLA Quad, North Adams
Interested in volunteering this Saturday? The MCLA hosts its 31st annual Spring Day of Service from noon to 3 on campus and at sites around North Berkshire.
Berkshire Grown Great Barrington Farmers Market
Housy Dome, Housatonic
Berkshire Grown holds a farmer's market this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Housy Dome, located at 1064 Main St.
The location is included on the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority's Route 21. The market features locally grown and produced foods, including fruits and vegetables, cheeses, and more.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is accepted with a SNAP match of up to $25 and market also takes the Massachusetts Healthy Incentives Program.
Fairy Tea Party and StoryWalk
Dottie's Coffee Lounge, Pittsfield
Downtown Pittsfield Inc. will be having a story walk featuring Cara Peckham-Krol's book, "Fairy Slippers: Molly Saves the Bees" starting at 10 a.m. Participants will stop at a dozen downtown locations to follow the story.
The story will be read in both English and Spanish. The walk will start at Dottie's and end with a Fairy Tea Party at South Congregational Church.

Berkshire Babypalooza 2023
Greylock Works, North Adams
There will be a free event featuring educational sessions topic regarding baby and pregnancy care from 11 until 2.
The event features games, door prizes, and more. Local agencies and vendors will be available to answer questions about pregnancy, birth, breast feeding, baby safety, family planning, and more.
The first 250 families will receive a gift bag.
Comedy Night
Bright Ideas Brewing, North Adams
Laugh over a drink at Bright Ideas on the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts campus. The comedy evening is hosted every second Saturday of the month starting at 8 p.m.
This event is produced by Iconix Productions in collaboration with Bright Ideas Brewing. Tickets are $10 to $15 and can be purchased here.
Jazz Performance
Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, Lenox
There will be a debut performance of Berkshires ensemble The Kids 4 Harmony
Virtuoso pianist Ted Rosenthal will be performing wit
Ted's trio will perform the first set which explores the Gershwin catalog.
The Kids 4 Harmony strings ensemble will continue this exploration and the night with conclude with Rosenthal performing "Rhapsody In Blue."

Spring Pasture Walk
Cricket Creek Farm, Williamstown
Join Topher for an early spring walk through Cricket Creek Farm's pastures. Learn about the spring flora, meet cows, and explore the growth of nature through the seasons. Learn about pasture rotation and other efforts to create a sustainable working dairy farm.
Lots of walking on uneven and often muddy ground. Wear suitable clothing and boots.

Berkshire Opera Festival Concert

The Berkshire Opera Festival will be having a spring concert starting at 2 p.m.
The festival feature artists Amanda Batista, Yazid Gray, Ryan Capozzo, and Francesco Barfoed.

There will be a performance by Tanglewood Learning Institute Chamber starting at 3 p.m.
The concert features musicians Sheila Fiekowsky, Lisa Kim, Mary Ferrillo, Daniel Getz, Adam Esbensen and Oliver Aldort.

Visitor Center Scavenger Hunt

Visit Mount Greylock Visitor Center from 10 to 3 for a self guided indoor scavenger hunt.

Mount Greylock State Reservation Visitor Center, Lanesborough
Identify signs of spring such as early ephemeral flora and emerging fauna with a hike along the Bradley Farm Trail starting at 11 a.m.
Drawing Closer: April Showers
The Clark, Williamstown
Artists of all skill level are welcome to work with the Clark's collection that explores an April's theme from 10:30 until noon.
The free event features prints, drawings, and photographs that include stormy weather and the artful effects of it.
Participate in recreating earlier artworks, practice the fundamentals, and explore the ideas these pieces exhibit.
