NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Police Chief Jason Wood has been put on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation is conducted.

 

According to the Berkshire Eagle, Wood's leave began March 8, and the investigation, which is being done by the city's legal team, is not criminal in nature.

 

In the interim, Lt. Anthony Beverly is running the department.

 

Wood was promoted to chief in 2019. He has been with the department for 20 years.
