Police Investigating Unattended Death in North Adams

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Police are investigating an unattended death near the corner of Church and Blackinton Streets. 

According to the District Attorney's Office, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office and the North Adams Police are conducting an investigation in the area. 

Police Chief Jason Wood confirmed that authorities are investigating an unattended death.

"The Mobile Command vehicle is on scene to assist with an unattended death that occurred on Nov 1st. Unfortunately, this is all I can offer at this time," Wood said. 

No further details were provided, and the investigation is ongoing. 

Authorities were at the scene on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday morning, the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force van was still parked on Church Street on the Massachusetts College of Liberal arts campus. Unmarked police vehicles were parked in the driveway of a residence across the street.
