Weekend Outlook: Artwalks, Haunted Houses, and More

Continue the fall season this weekend with these entertaining events including artwalks, haunted houses, pumpkin shows and more.
 
First Fridays Artswalk
Downtown Pittsfield, Pittsfield
 
It's the first Friday of the month, which means a First Friday Artswalk. The walk runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and features a dozen art shows and exhibits on view at venues around downtown Pittsfield. Most of the art being on display throughout October.
 
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet the artists. Participants can download the Downtown Pittsfield Inc. app from the Google Play or App Store to get a virtual walking tour. 
 
Participating venues include Hotel on North, Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield, Marketplace Cafe, Artists at the Clock Tower, and more.

The Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show
Naumkeag, Stockbridge
 
Naumkeag continues its spooky season with its pumpkin show this Friday at 5 p.m. 
 
Explore the museum's gardens decorated with over 1,500 jack-o'-lanterns, hundreds of mums, pumpkins, and countless gourds – most of which were grown at Naumkeag. 
 
Hot cider and fall treats will be available for sale on-site.
 
Advanced purchase of timed tickets is required. Tickets will not be sold on-site. Ticket time represents your arrival window.
 
No parking is available onsite with this general admission ticket but designated parking spaces are available on both sides of Town Hall located at 50 Main Street, along Main Street, or Elm Street. 
 
The first shuttle will leave downtown Stockbridge at 5 and run every 5 to 10 minutes through the run of the show, the last shuttle will depart no later than 8 p.m.

First Fridays Night Market
Eagle Street, North Adams 
 
North Adams residents and visitors can explort the Eagle Street Night Market this Friday from 6 until 10 p.m. 
 
Participants can have beverages provided by the Berkshire Cider Project while perusing galleries and businesses that will be open late.

Comedy @ Bright Ideas Brewing
Bright Ideas Brewing, North Adams
 
Laugh over a drink at Bright Ideas located on the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts campus during the 90-minute event. The comedy evening is hosted every second Saturday of the month starting at 8 p.m. 
 
This event is produced by Iconix Productions in collaboration with Bright Ideas Brewing. Tickets are $10 to $15 and can be purchased here.
 
 
Berkshire Botanical Garden: Harvest Fest
Berkshire Botanical Garden, Stockbridge 
 
Berkshire Botanical Garden will be hosting its annual Harvest Festival this weekend continuing its beloved tradition that they started in 1934. 
 
The garden, located at t 5 West Stockbridge Road, will be hosting its festivities on Saturday, Oct. 8, and Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. 
 
The festival includes family entertainment, a tag sale, a plant sale, a farmers market, and more. 
 
Children can enjoy hay and pony rides, be spooked in a haunted house, or participate in the various other events. 
 
There will be live performances beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will run through the weekend.

13 Nights Returns
Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort, Hancock 
 
One of the locals' favorite haunted houses returns providing a fright-filled weekend to participants brave enough to enter. 
 
Take a group of friends to participate in Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort's "13 Nights at Jiminy" every Friday through Sunday from 6:30 until 10:30 p.m. throughout the month of October. 
 
The age recommendation is 10 and up. Haunted House participation costs $27. 
 
Participants are also welcome to ride through the darkness with the resorts Mountain Coaster for $15 a ride. 
 
The Scream and Scare Package includes one trip through "13 Nights" and two rides on the coaster for $44. 
 
The Christiansen's Tavern will be open to purchase drinks, dinner, or a snack Friday through Sunday from 5 p.m. until 10:30 throughout "13 Nights."

Ramblefest 2022
Adams Visitors Center
 
The Adams Visitor Center, located at 3 Hoosac St., will be hosting Ramblefest this Sunday, Oct. 9.
 
The fest includes live music, scenic train rides, activities, vendors, and more to celebrate the arrival of autumn and a prelude to the annual Ramble up Mount Greylock on Monday.

Hunters Moonlit Market
TurnParkArtSpace, West Stockbridge
 
TurnParkArtSpace will be hosting a bazaar this weekend on the full harvest moon this Saturday at 4 p.m. 
 
Participants are encouraged to dress up in costume attire as they peruse from over 35 vendors and listen to live music. 
 
There will be tarot readings, sound healing, reiki, astrology, and numerology. Some vendors accept payments from apps like Venmo, CashApp, and PayPal but it is recommended to have cash on hand. There is not an ATM on site. 
 
Public parking is available throughout downtown West Stockbridge.

Indigenous Peoples Day
The Common Park, Pittsfield 
 
The Berkshire Community Action Council will be hosting an Indigenous Peoples Day this Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Common Park. 
 
This free admissions event will feature live performances, indigenous artisans, and local food trucks.

Farmer's Markets

Sheffield Farmers' Market
125 Main St.
 
Sheffield Farmers' Market is wrapping up its season this Friday from 3 until 6 p.m. at First Congregational Church located at 125 Main St. 
 
The market features healthy food and products from a variety of local vendors in an attempt to nourish the community by protecting "local small farms, land, bees, and economy."

Pittsfield Farmers Market
The Common
 
Powered by Roots Rising, this market will conclude its season this Saturday rain or shine from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through Oct. 8.
 
Each week the market will have fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, along with meat, eggs, cheese, baked goods by local vendors. Participants can shop for flowers, and artisan goods while listening to music and participate in family activities.

This Saturday from 10 until 2 p.m. is your last chance to go to the Lee Farmers Market. It accepts SNAP/HIP, Senior Coupons, WIC coupons, and offer market match.

The market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. into October in the parking lot at the bottom of Spring Street. 
 
This year the market will feature returning and new vendors, including a fishmonger, knife sharpener, baker, chef, and much more.
