WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Fitchburg State's Dayne Allen hit a pair of free throws with eight seconds left Tuesday to give the Falcons a 77-76 win over MCLA in the quarter-finals of the MASCAC tournament.

 

Trevian Hinson scored a game-high 29 points as Fitchburg State (7-17) prevailed in a back-and-forth game that featured eight ties and 13 lead changes.

 

Noah Yearsley scored 25 to lead MCLA (10-13), which got 15 points and seven assists from Quentin Gittens.

 

Hayden Bird scored 11 an grabbed seven rebounds for the Trailblazers.

 

Women's Basketball

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Destiny Fitzgerald scored 20 points Tuesday to lead Bridgewater State to a 79-40 win over MCLA in the MASCAC quarter-finals.

 

Fitzgerald also pulled down 13 rebounds for the Bears (19-7).

 

Drury graduate Brooke DiGennaro scored 13 points and had eight rebounds for MCLA (1-23), which got a team-high 15 points from Maddie Teta.
