NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Thanksgiving for Seniors program will be sponsored by All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church and from community donations for the 37th year.

The program is provided and organized by local volunteers from the Northern Berkshire community and by All Saints Weekend Meal Ministry.

The meal will be a traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, vegetable, gravy, cranberry sauce roll and pumpkin pie. Last year over two hundred meals were delivered to the Northern Berkshire seniors. Various agencies assist with gathering and
notifying the seniors in each community. All Saints Berkshire also will take reservations by calling the office, Nov. 8 through Nov. 19.

All Saints Berkshire, located in North Adams, will be delivering the meals to seniors that live in North Adams, Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, the town of Florida and Williamstown. The program is for seniors 60 years of age and older who are alone on Thanksgiving and have no way of having a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The meals will be delivered by volunteers on Thanksgiving Day between 11 am and noon. This is a free meal and all seniors who wish to receive a meal must make a reservation.

Due to the Massachusetts COVID regulations, there will be safety regulations put in place to protect our senior population and the volunteers delivering the meals. To receive a meal, the delivery person will wear a mask, gloves and will distance themselves at 6 feet.

The recipient must wear a mask. To assist in a non-contact delivery, participants are asked to place a receptacle outside of their door. Volunteers will call after delivery.

For those living in group senior housing the delivery will set up in the community room or lobby and the volunteer will call each senior down separately to retrieve the meal.

Should a senior be not able to retrieve the meal they must plan for someone to pick up the meal prior to Thanksgiving.

Reservations can be made starting Nov. 8 by calling All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church.

To make a reservation call: All Saints Berkshire Episcopal Church 413-664-9656 Monday through Thursday from 8am-1pm Someone will be in the office to take your name and information on those days. If no answer, leave your name, address, the town you reside in and phone number on our voice mail machine. Please speak clearly so we can call back to confirm your reservation.

Volunteers are also needed.
