FITCHBURG, Mass. -- The MCLA women's cross country team finished up its season Saturday, running in the 2021 MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University.
The Trailblazers finished seventh in the meet. Westfield State repeated as conference champions.
Domenica Gomez led MCLA's runners covering the course in 31:11 for a 40th place finish. The rest of the Trailblazers were bunched up as Sara Tomkiewicz, Lydia Splaine, Nina Rayes, and Lori Lester completed the lineup.
Westfield State placed three runners inside the top five to easily outpace Bridgewater State.
Westfield's Amy O'Sullivan took top individual honors with a time of 18 minutes, 46 seconds.
Men's Cross Country
FITCHBURG, Mass. -- The MCLA men's cross country team wrapped up its season running in the MASCAC Championships
The Trailblazers finished seventh in the meet which was won by Worcester State.
MCLA was led by David Babineau who covered the course in 31:29. He finished in 36th place overall. Patrick Casagrande was the next finisher for MCLA with a time of 36:38.
Other runners today included Mike Bankowski, Elyjah Garneau, and Nate Kumm.
Fitchburg's Taban Manyok won the event with a time of 26:07. He narrowly beat Worcester's Patrick Carleton for the top spot.
