Fall Foliage Week Features Parades, Dinners, Craft Fairs

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The 65th annual Fall Foliage Festival kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday, Oct. 3, when the Fall Foliage Parade steps off at 1 p.m.
 
This year's theme is "Games, Movies & Take-Out," a nod to some of the more enjoyable activities that took place during the pandemic lockdown.
 
Participants and spectators are highly encouraged to wear masks and follow best safety practices in regards to staying home if sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
 
This year's grand marshals are the entire Emergency Operations Center team that was activated when the pandemic hit Berkshire County back in March 2020. 
 
The week of events start Friday night with Movies Under the Stars at Colegrove Park Presents 'The LEGO Movie' beginning at approximately 7 p.m.
 
This the last free family movie in Colegrove Park for the 2021 season and has a run time of one hour and 40 minutes.

SATURDAY, Sept. 25
 
🍁Fall Foliage LEAF HUNT Clues announced. Look for them on iBerkshires.com. 
 
🍁Fall Foliage Children's Races at Colegrove Park from 10 to noon. Race Registration: 10-10:45 a.m.; races at 11 a.m.; awards ceremony at 11:45 a.m.
 
This event is free and open to all ages, with categories for various age groups, and awards for group winners. Best for ages 10 years and under.
 
Children's Fair booths are hosted by local community organizations. Awards are sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union.  
 
🍁Northern Berkshire Community Electronics Recycling & Paper Shredding
 
All Saints Episcopal Church, Steeple City Plaza Parking Lot, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
Sponsored by All Saints Episcopal Church and Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District. Disposal Fees (in support of All Saints): $5-10 for most items. LED/Flat Screen TVs $20 -50, CRT TVs/CRT monitors $15-50. Large appliances $15-25. No charge for paper shredding.
 
Open to all residents, businesses and schools in Berkshire County and Southern VT. Collect your old computers, laptops, monitors, TVs, air conditioners and more and bring them down. Also, watch your outdated sensitive documents shredded on site.
 
🍁Hoosac Valley Fall Foliage Train Rides
 
Departs from/returns to the Train Depot in Adams on weekends through the end of October: 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. & 3:30 p.m. Tickets up to $16 per person and are available online here or walk-up at the station in Adams. Welcome coach located at 3 Depot St., Adams. 
 
THURSDAY, Sept. 30
 
🍁Fall Foliage Ziti Supper 
 
St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish Center, 70 Marshall St., 413-663-5316, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets $15 per person. 
 
The St. Anthony's Kitchen Meal Ministry Program is hosting a curbside, cash & carry Chicken Parm Fall Foliage Dinner with ziti, salad, garlic bread and dessert. Purchase tickets in advance by calling or stopping at: The rectory: 413-663-5316 or Moulton Spectacle Shoppe, 413-664-4270, during business hours. 
 
COVID Notes: This is a CASH, CARRY and CURBSIDE fundraiser. Simply pull up alongside the curb on the Holden Street side of the parish center. You will be directed from there by one of the coordinators. This fundraiser will aid the ministry in building its kitchen supplies as well as stocking the food shelves.
 
 
FRIDAY, Oct.1
 
🍁Annual Fall Children's Parade, Main Street, 413-664-6180
 
Registration begins at 4:30 p.m., lineup at 5, and the parade at 5:30 p.m.
 
Children from throughout the Northern Berkshires are encouraged to make costumes and enter the parade. This year's theme is "Games, Movies & Take-Out." Participants must arrive at Eagle Street by 5. Parade will proceed to City Hall. Ribbons will be given to all participants. Group and float winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade on Sunday, Oct. 3. Please note that groups should be 10 or fewer children, as there are only 10 medals that will be awarded per category/prize. Awards are sponsored by Norad Toy & Candy Co. and Greylock Federal Credit Union. 
 
 
Event includes vendors, artists and local businesses for a social shopping evening. Thank you to Installation Space and The Garden for helping help make this event possible. 
 
SATURDAY, Oct. 2
 
🍁10th annual Fall Dog Parade, Veterans Memorial Park, registration at 10 a.m., parade at 10:30.
 
Free but donations to local animal rescues accepted. All dogs are encouraged to participate in costume with their owners. This year's parade theme is "Games, Movies & Take-Out." Categories are: funniest, best duo (owner and dog), best group (dogs), best small dog, best medium-sized dog, and best large dog. Prizes will be awarded following the parade and ribbons will be given to all participants. Dog parade winners will be invited to participate in the Fall Foliage Parade. Awards are sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union.

The market is one of the most pet-friendly places in the city. Celebrate the Dog Days of Fall by bringing your dog to the market. Please consider bringing a non-perishable dog food or monetary donation to benefit the local animal shelter.

Parade begins at 1 p.m. from DiSanti Field parking lot, marches down Main Street and concludes on Ashland Street. Thank you to the Platinum Leaf Sponsor, MountainOne. It will be simulcast by Northern Berkshire Community Television and iBerkshires.
