WORCESTER, Mass. -- Mount Greylock graduate Sam Edge made four saves Saturday to backstop the MCLA men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Worcester State for the Trailblazers' first win of the year.

 

Cola Bean scored two goals for MCLA, which opened Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference play with a victory.

 

MCLA (1-3, 1-0) is home on Sunday for a non-league match against Husson at noon.

 

Women's Soccer

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Ali Maldonado had a goal and an assist Saturday to lead Worcester State to a 2-0 win over MCLA.

 

Jillian Currier and Mady Breese combined to stop 15 shots for the Trailblazers (0-5, 0-1), who host Albany College of Pharmacy on Wednesday.

 

Volleyball

MILTON, Mass. -- The MCLA volleyball team went on the road and returned with their second straight victory as the Trailblazers defeated Curry College, 3-0, in non league action.

 

Reagan Scattergood and Kelly Moczulski each had 10 kills for the Trailblazers (3-2), who host New England College on Tuesday.
