Positive Cases at Four in North Adams Police Department10:41PM / Wednesday, September 01, 2021 | |
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The number of positive cases of COVID-19 reported at the Police Department remains at four.
Police Chief Jason Wood had confirmed to local media on Tuesday that four members of the department had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
On Wednesday, he responded by email that he had been waiting for more information before providing a press release.
"Unfortunately, I am still waiting for that very same information," he wrote late Wednesday. "However, I can tell you at this time that there have been no other positive reported cases within the North Adams Police Department. When I have a more clear picture, I will send out a press release to all of you."
It is not clear if these Police Department members were vaccinated or not, or how many within the department are vaccinated. The county rate for vaccination is about 70 percent.
Area first-responders including firefighters, police, Department of Public Works personnel, and emergency medical technicians were the first to get vaccines at the regional clinic set up at St. Elizabeth's Parish Center in January.
