NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Braden Golinski scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth to complete a 9-8, come-from-behind win for the North Adams SteepleCats against the first-place Keene Swamp Bats on Friday night.
Keene scored three runs in the eighth to erasea a 7-4 North Adams lead and one more in the top of the ninth to take an 8-7 lead.
Matt Shilling started North Adams' winning rally in the ninth with a one-out single. Golinski was then hit by a pitch.
Lucas Dolon singled to drive in Shilling and tie the game.
Mason Hull worked a walk to load the bases for John Marti with one out.
Marti delivered a ground ball, and Keene was unable to turn two as Golinski raced home to win the game.
Jeremy Lea went 3-for-4, and Justin Grech was 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead North Adams' offense.
Vincenzo Zappulla earned the win with one inning of relief. He allowed one unearned run in the top of the ninth and struck out three.
The SteepleCats (14-11-2) moved to within a game and a half of New England Collegiate Baseball League North Division co-leaders Keene and Upper Valley with the win. Upper Valley visits Joe Wolfe Field on Saturday for a 6:30 game.
