NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Jeremy Lea singled in the bottom of the 10th to drive in the winning run as the North Adams SteepleCats Monday beat the Upper Valley Nighthawks, 9-8, in New England Collegiate Baseball League play.

 

Monument Mountain graduate Jared Henry earned the win on the mound with four innings of scoreless relief.

 

Henry, a student at UMass-Amherst, struck out three and lowered his earned run average to 5.14 this summer.

 

John Marti doubled in a run and scored in a two-run bottom of the ninth to force extra innings. Marti went 3-for-3 on the night.

 

Jon Kozarian went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, and Hayden Gilliland drove in four runs for the SteepleCats.

 

North Adams (8-7-2) is home on Wednesday against Winnepesaukee.
