NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Charles Middleton hit a grand slam to lead the North Adams SteepleCats to an 8-3 win over the North Shore Navigators on Saturday.

 

Thomas Gavello also homered for North Adams (7-7-2) which scored eight runs on just six hits. It scored seven of those runs in the fifth inning to erase a 2-0 deficit.

 

Richard Alexy earned the win on the mound with two innings of scoreless relief. Jake Cubbler threw three innings of shutout ball, strikin gout five.

 

North Adams is off on Sunday but home on Monday to take on the Upper Valley Nighthawks.
