LENOX, Mass. -- Three Berkshire County Youth Soccer League teams have qualified for the Massachusettts Tournament of Champions this weekend in Lancaster. Two girls teams and one boys team are advancing to the state tourney based on their performance throughout the spring: the 7th- and 8th-grade Lenox Gold girls, the 5th- and 6th-grade North Adams Breakers girls and the 5th- and 6th-grade Williamstown Vipers boys. The BCYSL held its season-ending tournament on Saturday at Lenox Memorial Middle and High School, with championships decided in seven different groups. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Deshawn Hamlet scored 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds Monday as Battle of the Future battled to a 74-71 win over the PhoneBros in the A Division season opener of the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League. Aaron Perkins scored 18 points for Battle of the Future, and Bryce Webb and Daemond Carter added 11 and 10, respectively. PhoneBros was led by Julius Woods with 25 points and seven boards.
