NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shirley Hazel McAdoo, 86, of 104 Union St. died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Worcester on Oct. 22, 1926, a daughter of Hermidas and Ethel Briand Dion, she attended schools in Malden.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. McAdoo he was employed for a short time at the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Her husband, Harold Thomas McAdoo, whom she married Nov. 26, 1944, died on May 6, 2011.
She leaves a son, Thomas McAdoo and his wife, Cynthia, of Plantsville, Conn.; a daughter, Deborah Lipka and her husband, Scott, of North Adams; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Brian McAdoo, Pamela Calvert, Kathryn Worden, Amanda Boucher and Timothy, Valerie and Jessica Lipka, 19 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Dion.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. McAdoo will take place Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of North Adams. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals in charge of arrangements.
