NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Judith Ann Lipa, 55, of 84 Eleanor Road, Springfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield of pancreatic cancer.
Born in North Adams on March 10, 1957, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Mancuso Lipa, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
At the time of her death, Ms. Lipa was the senior marketing representative for Safety Insurance, for which had worked for 22 years.
She leaves a daughter, Alicia Mitchell and her husband, Joshua, of Sumter, S.C.; three brothers, John Lipa and his wife, Bonnie, of North Adams and Madeira Beach, Fla., James Lipa and his wife, Debra, of North Adams and Joseph Lipa and his wife, Patricia, of Pittsfield; a sister, JoAnn Bates of North Adams; two grandchildren, Sienna and Jaeden Mitchell, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ms. Lipa will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, with a reception at the Williams Inn in Williamstown.
A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 10 to 11 at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Judith Ann Lipa Educational Trust to the care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
