NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Harriet C. O'Neil, 91, of 150 Ashland St. died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Slingerlands, N.Y., on June 12, 1920, daughter of Frank and Catherine Shearer, she attended local schools.
Mrs. O'Neil was employed by the former Richardson Rest Home for many years. She also did private duty nursing.
She was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Her husband, Howard O'Neil, died Feb. 16, 1991
She leaves two sons, Henry Harrington of Williamstown and John Harrington of North Adams; five daughters, Mary Johnson of Newport, N.C., Patricia Bessette of Clarksburg, Katherine Raney of Adams, and Sarah Perry and Gloria Rose, both of North Adams; several grandchildren including Amy Harrington, who was her caregiver; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Howard O'Neil and two daughters, Sue Ellen Saliba and Rose Harrington. Five brothers and sisters are also deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. O'Neil will be Friday, March 23, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Greylock Animal Hospital in care of the funeral home.
