CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Jacqueline Mae Quirk, 76, of 465 North Eagle St. died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on April 15, 1935, daughter of Forist A. McLain Sr. and Edna Violet "Betsy" Sweet McLain, she attended the former Briggsville Elementary School and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams in 1954. Mrs. Quirk was employed by Excelsior Printing Co. in North Adams for 28 years until her retirement. She had earlier worked at Strong-Hewat Woolen Mill for 11 years. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was an auxiliary police officer for the city of North Adams. She was proud of her American Indian heritage. Her husband, John F. Quirk, whom she married on Dec. 4, 1971, died March 10, 2005. She leaves a brother, Allan E. McLain and his wife, Blanche, of Clarksburg; a stepdaughter, Patricia Lembo of North Carolina; four stepgrandchildren, David, Lynne, Justin and Joshua; a sister-in-law, Alice McLain of North Adams, nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Webster. Her brother, Forist McLain Jr., is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Quirk will be private and there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
