NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Doris Anna Simon, 91, of Garden Grove, Calif., formerly of North Adams, died Friday, March 25, 2011, in Orange, Calif.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 6, 1919, a daughter of Leo and Blanche Lamarre Tatro, she attended local schools.
Her husband, Henry Frederick Simon, whom she married Jan. 4, 1938, in the former Notre Dame Church, died May 18, 1996.
She leaves a daughter, Dolores A. Thibert of Garden Grove, with whom she made her home; a son, Frederick A. Simon of Weleetka, Okla.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Ellen Simon Mastroianni Landry on Feb. 23, 1976, her brothers Roger, Norman, Raymond and Bernard Tatro, and a cousin raised with her like a brother, Ernest Means.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Simon will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 7, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
After the graveside service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at Boston Sea Food Restaurant, American Legion Drive, North Adams. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams is in charge of arrangements.
