NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Florence M. Carriere, 93, of 628 State Road, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 2, 1917, daughter of Telesphore and Mary Landry Carriere, she attended the former Holy Family School.
Miss Carriere was employed at the Greylock Division of the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates for more than 25 years, until it ceased operation. She then devoted her life to caring for her family.
She was a communicant of the former Holy Family Church and enjoyed photography.
She leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins, including her caregiver, Dale Balawender of Cheshire.
A brother, Edward Carriere died in 2001.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Carriere will be celebrated Tuesday, April 5, at 11 a.m. from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services or North Adams Commons in care of the funeral home.
