NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joan Marie Murray, 75, of 400 Seabury Drive, Bloomfield, Conn., former of North Adams, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Seabury Nursing Home in Bloomfield.
Born in North Adams on July 3, 1935, daughter of James H. and Gertrude Leppelt Russell, she graduated from Drury High School and also graduated from the Hartford (Conn.) College for Women. She moved to Connecticut in 1964.
Mrs. Murray was employed as an executive assistant at CIGNA Insurance Co. for 33 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed travel and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Her husband, Robert M. Murray, died on Dec. 3, 1994, and her sister, Margaret Slater, in 2001
She leaves nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral for Mrs. Murray will be Friday, March 25, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Friday morning at the funeral home from 10 until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Seabury Retirement Community in care of the funeral home.
