NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joyce Eleanor Mable Socha Whitley, 83, of 546 Mohawk Trail died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
Born in London on Nov. 21, 1926, daughter of Alfred and Eleanor Tollhurst Hudson, she attended schools in England and came to the United States after World War II.
Mrs. Socha Whitley was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. until she returned to England and was employed by the London Transit. She returned to North Adams in 1999.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Her first husband, Bronislaw Socha, died in 1996.
Her husband, Thomas Whitley, died in 1999.
She leaves two sons, John Socha of Adams and Gary Socha of Sturbridge; a grandson, Eric Socha of Cheshire, and many relatives in England.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Socha Whitley will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 9 a.m. in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Feed the Children in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
