NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Eleanor Irene Blair, 88, of 45 Spring St. died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 15, 1921, daughter of George and Bertha Hunter Roy, she graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Blair worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, James H. Blair, whom she married Oct. 5, 1943, died Nov. 19, 1992.
She leaves a son, James H. Blair Jr. of North Adams; three daughters, Diane Myers, Donna Gifford and Darlene Roberts, all of North Adams; three brothers, Richard Roy of Chelmsford, Francis Roy of Acton and Norman Roy of Pepperell, 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Her brothers Kenneth Roy and Robert Roy predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services for Mrs. Blair will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. at Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
