NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rita Styczynski, 93, of 38 Biltmore Ave. died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 18, 1916, daughter of Calix "Chick" and Edith Trombley Roy, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Styczynski worked for more than 30 years at the former Sprague Electric Co., until her retirement.
She enjoyed working in her yard and housecleaning.
Her husband, Stanley Styczynski, whom she married in 1936, died in 1977.
She leaves three grandchildren, Roger S. Styczynski Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of North Adams, Kimberly Pfeffer and Derek Styczynski of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Exilda Suprenant of Adams; two brothers, Rolland Roy of Pownal, Vt., and George C. Roy of North Adams, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Roger S. Styczynski Sr., on Nov. 10, 2005, and her siblings Lionel Roy, Melva Hoynoski and Beatrice Pierce.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Styczynski will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at 9 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Williamstown Commons Patient Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
