NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marguerite Bertha Corbiere, 79, of 50 1/2 Williams St. died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 14, 1929, daughter of Solomon and Rosa Louise LaBonte Richard, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former Notre Dame School.
Mrs. Corbiere was last employed as a supervisor in the dietary department at North Adams Regional Hospital. She first worked at the form J.J. Newberry Store and former Sprague Electric Co. and, later, as a telephone operator at the former New England Telephone Co.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Couer Church.
Her husband, Leo Omer Corbiere, whom she married April 3, 1948, died Dec. 14, 1979.
She leaves a daughter, Cynthia Marie Gagne and her fiance, Bruce Sherman, of the town of Florida; two grandchildren, Kurt Gagne and his wife, Stacy, of Clarksburg and Brandi Scarberry of Burlington, Kans.; great-grandsons Owen Gagne, Ethan Gagne and Austin Scarberry and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Corbiere will take place Monday, April 20, at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, formerly St. Anthony's Church, in North Adams. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Critical Care Unit at North Adams Regional Hospital through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
