NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — David Wayne Jones Sr., 59, of 45 Porter St. died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on April 6, 1949, son of Raymond and Margaret Sweet Jones, he attended schools in Lanesborough and graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School in 1968. He also attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield.
Mr. Jones was last employed by Energy Answers in Pittsfield.
He was a member of Northern Berkshire Christian Church. He enjoyed watching professional football and hunting.
He and his wife, the former Ann Marie Haley, were married on Feb. 14, 1982.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David W. Jones Jr. of North Adams; three daughters, Julie Shade of Adams and Margaret Jones and Elizabeth Jones, both of Missouri; two brothers, Stephen Jones of North Adams and Thomas Jones of Bath, Pa.; five sisters, Mary Rathbun, Barbara Parisi and Marge Vouchillon, all of Pittsfield, Dorothy Keeler of Lanesborough and Ruth Lampenfeld of Cherryville, Pa., and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond A. Jones and Walter L. Jones, and his sister Texanna Scherer.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mr. Jones will be held Friday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. from Northern Berkshire Christian Church, 55 Harding Ave., with the Rev. Robert Bellofatto Jr. officiating. Burial will be private and there will be no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, is in charge of arrangements.
Today would have been our 27th anniversary and we said we would do something special this year. I miss you more than I can even put into words. A lot of things I don’t understand but I have to accept it. Just remember I will always love you with all my heart.
